The Performance Flight is a TROPHY ONLY event. However, each player will receive an extremely well thought out players’ package. Our hope is that you will leave here feeling that we provided you with an elite tournament experience.
All players are welcome to play, regardless of skill level or player classification.
The Performance Flight will be identical to the USDGC Performance Flight that was introduced a few years ago in Rock Hill, South Carolina except that you will not need to qualify for the Wide Open. However, you will need to be a current PDGA member with an established rating and at least 8 rated rounds within 12 months prior to the 2017 Wide Open. Since a ratings-based formula is used to calculate projected scores, there is a minimum rating allowed of 800. If you are rated below 800 and want to play, you will have to play the event with an 800 calculated score. If you do not have an established rating, you will have to play the event with a 1000-rated projected score. This is a performance based event, that was created by Adrian Southern of Disc Golf United and we are thankful to him for allowing us to use it here.
Here is an example of how it works. Each player will get a projected score on a course based on their player rating. For instance, Player A is a 1000 rated player and they may have a projected score of 54 on the course. While Player B, who is a 950 rated player, may have a projected score of 59. If Player A shoots a 56 on the course, they will be +2 over par. If Player B shoots the same score of 56, they would actually be -3 under par. So, in short, the projected score is the players individual course par.

Performance Flight Scores
Scores from the Performance Flight will not be posted on the PDGA results page. However, they will be posted here at kcwideopen.com. After the conclusion of each round we will post a leader board on the home page where you will be able to keep up with how everyone is doing. We will keep the leader board up-to-date along with the rest of the Wide Open fields. We are also working with the PDGA to hopefully have the results page redirect to our page so you can find it there as well.
As for your rating, you will get a round rating for each time you play. Although, because of the formatted scoring, it will not be calculated until after the conclusion of the event. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
